LangRef Search
Privacy Policy
Effective: July 30, 2026
This Policy explains how Shunsuke Setoguchi (the “Operator”) handles information in connection with LangRef Search (the “Service”), which is operated personally and on a non-commercial basis. The Service does not provide accounts, advertising, usage analytics, payments, or public profiles.

Access and Search
When you connect to the Service, Cloudflare, the hosting provider, may process an IP address, timestamp, request URL, user agent, referrer, and network and security information as technically necessary. The Operator has disabled persistent Workers request logs and access analytics.
Matching and ranking against search indexes happen in your browser. A URL containing search terms may still be sent to the server and Cloudflare when you directly open, reload, or follow a shared search URL, or search without JavaScript. Do not enter personal data, confidential information, or credentials as search terms.

Issue Reports
Through Google Forms, the Operator receives information you enter, such as the problem, reproduction steps, expected and actual behavior, environment, relevant URL, and an optional contact email address. The form does not require a Google sign-in, verified email address, or file upload. Google may separately process connection and related information when you submit the form.
3. Purposes and Legal Bases
- to provide search results and preserve language, theme, and source choices;
- to prevent abuse, secure the Service, and respond to incidents;
- to reproduce, classify, and fix issues and, where needed, contact a reporter; and
- to comply with law and protect the rights of the Service, the Operator, and users.
Depending on the law that applies, processing is based on necessity to provide the Service, the legitimate interests of the Operator or users, compliance with legal obligations, or responding to a report or inquiry you voluntarily submit. You can use search without providing optional form information.
4. Processors, Recipients, and International Processing
The following providers may process information in countries outside Japan:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — Workers, CDN, DNS, and security.Cloudflare Privacy Policy
- Google LLC — collection of issue reports through Google Forms.Google Privacy Policy
Only the Operator can view Google Form responses. To investigate causes and possible fixes, the Operator may manually submit all or part of a report to the following AI services:
- Anthropic — Claude and Claude Code.Anthropic Privacy Policy
- OpenAI — ChatGPT and Codex.OpenAI Privacy Policy
- Google — Antigravity.Google Privacy Policy
Before doing so, the Operator will remove or mask contact details and other personal or confidential information that is not needed for investigation. You should nevertheless avoid including unnecessary information in a report. Processing by each AI service also depends on the Operator’s plan and settings and on that provider’s terms and policies.
If you choose to open an external search result, that destination may collect ordinary web-request information under its own policy.
5. Retention
- Functional cookies last for one year. Session storage lasts for the browser-tab session.
- The Operator does not retain persistent logs of ordinary access or search requests.
- Issue reports and optional contact details are normally deleted 12 months after resolution and, in principle, no later than 24 months after submission.
Information may be kept longer only when necessary for an active security investigation, preservation of legal rights, or a legal obligation. Provider retention is governed by the applicable provider policies and settings.
6. Security
The Operator uses reasonable safeguards, including data minimization, encrypted transport, restricted access, disabled persistent logs, and deletion or masking of report content. No method of Internet transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.
7. Your Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request notice of purpose, access, correction, restriction, deletion, objection, or cessation of third-party disclosure regarding your information held by the Operator. Contact the address above with enough information to identify the relevant report and the action requested. The Operator will respond after appropriate identity verification and consideration of legal exceptions.
You may also be entitled to complain to Japan’s Personal Information Protection Commission or, in the EEA or another jurisdiction, your local data-protection authority.
8. Children
The Service is not designed to collect personal data from children. Where local law imposes an age requirement for consent, a parent or guardian should be involved in submitting an issue report or inquiry.
9. Changes
This Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the Service, providers, or law. Material changes will be announced on this page or by another reasonable method, and the effective date will be updated.
